We clean 1000’s ovens, cookers, ranges, hobs & extractors every year in and around the city of Sheffield, so we hear a lot about this product, especially testimonials from our customers that have used it prior to using our service.  Because of this we are in a good position to give our thoughts on Oven Pride. How to you use Oven Pride / Oven Brite? According to the instructions taken from the Oven Pride website: 1) Place the racks in the bag and add 1/2 – a3/4 of the solution into the bag. Seal the bag and fold around the racks, then tilt the bag to coat the trays. Leave to soak for 4 hours, ideally overnight.2) Pour the remaining solution in the oven. Carefully apply with a sponge. Leave to soak for 4 hours, ideally overnight.3) Remove the racks without reaching inside and rinse carefully with hot soapy water. From inside the oven, remove residue with a sponge and rinse with hot soapy water.That’s it.Having heard and seen so many negative story’s to Oven Pride / Oven Brite we feel it’s now necessary to make people aware of them.Oven Pride is toxic. The solution in Oven Pride / Oven Brite is caustic soda, chemical name “sodium hydroxide”. A powerful and highly corrosive chemical that requires gloves to handle it.Oven Pride / Oven Brite cannot be used to the following otherwise damage will certain occur: Any part of the Hob. Any part of the Extractor. A hot or warm oven. Cast iron, aluminium, zinc, copper, tin, painted, damaged, self-cleaning or non-stick surfaces. Door seals.
